The Step Sisters is a breast cancer organization that supports those facing a breast cancer diagnosis in Northern Virginia.
What We Do
The Step Sisters support women that are currently battling the disease by funding necessary support services.
Step Sister services are designed to ease a patient’s mind, decreasing stress and providing comfort. But they are also designed to remove all obstacles to treatment. If a patient postpones her appointment because she does not have childcare, for example, we know that delay can be detrimental to her overall prognosis. We believe that no patient should have to alter her treatment plans because of her personal circumstances.
We gift Patient Care Bags to newly diagnosed patients, provide quality-of-life services, and offer a Crisis Fund to help with housing & utility costs.
