Last year, nearly 4,000 inmates were booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Upon release, many had homes to return to and loved ones who could help. Re-Entry backpacks are designed for those who do not have that support.
Working with the detention center, Crossroads has designed backpacks to equip and support those who who are rebuilding their lives with nowhere to go and no one to lean on.
Each backpack contains items needed to wash up, make a call, have a meal and locate area resources. Backpacks will be customized for male and female, English and Spanish-speaking recipients.
If you wish to donate to the program, you can purchase most items from our Amazon Wishlist. You may also purchase the items independently. Items should be brought in/delivered by 9/13/26.
- Granola bars (no nuts)
- Travel-sized shampoo
- Bar of soap
- New washcloth
- New towel (maximum size 30 x 54)
- Deodorant (men)
- Deodorant (women)
- Small pack of travel tissues
- Toothbrush
- Travel sized-toothpaste
- Comb
- Box of pens (with caps if possible)
- Small notebook (3 x 5 or 5 x 7 for example)
- Pair of new socks

- Ziploc bag with 8 quarters
- $15 fast food gift card (McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Chick-fil-A, etc.)
