Who We Are

Loudoun Literacy Council has been changing lives through reading and learning to promote personal growth and empowerment in Loudoun County since 1980. We believe that literacy remains essential to achieving community-wide aspirations of developing young learners, strengthening families, enabling parents to participate in the education of their children, and ensuring access to opportunities for economic advancement.

What We Do

Adult Literacy Program
Loudoun Literacy Council offers a variety of options for community members 18 years of age and older to achieve their literacy goals. Classes and individual tutoring are available year-round at partner sites across Loudoun County. All services are performed by trained volunteers from the community.

Family Literacy Program
The Family Literacy Program serves children in our community through several different initiatives, including Head Start, STEP, Fall for Reading, Book Builder Program, Sweet Dreams, Baby Book Bundles, and others. Through these efforts we have distributed thousands of books to families in our community.
