There are hundreds of DC area unhoused veterans who are in need of support. Last year, 470 attended Winterhaven, the Veteran Administration's annual resource event for these veterans. This is the event we are supporting.
The most frequently requested items are socks (white or black, sizes 9-12) and underwear (sizes medium to 2XL) for men and mini personal hygiene products for women (e.g., body lotion, body wash, deodorant, nail files, feminine hygiene products, hand sanitizer, lip balm, Kleenex, heating patches, and shampoo).
You can purchase items via our Amazon wish list, HOMELESS VETERANS AMAZON WISH LIST , which will then be delivered directly to Arcola UMC at no cost. All items due by September 30th.
